In a RECENT previous thread, I read about someone with 76 AFQT getting one of the Guaranteed programs such as (district or A School).....
I received a 93 and assumed if I was eligible for either of these programs then I would be told.
Have these programs been cut recently? Last year I was offered them, but no word this year. Has the program started-up again?
I'm about to DEP-in on Sept 9th, so was just curious.

Policies change constantly in the military, let alone recruiting policies. The last thing I heard publicly was that guaranteed districts and (most) guaranteed 'A' schools were not currently available for active duty recruits although they may well have been last year. That could change again at any time so, if you are interested in something like that, make sure your recruiter knows so he can inform you if the policy changes. Of course, being the military, if you want the policy to change, it will not. If you like the current policy, they are already in the process of changing it...

I believe the recent thread you are referring to was for a reservist - they are assigned an 'A' school reservation more or less at the same time they get a boot camp reservation but that's done for the benefit of the Coast Guard, not as a recruiting incentive.

Thanks for confirming! I thought I had actually read something about Guaranteed District, but that makes sense if it was Reserve. I tried looking for updated memos....It's almost impossible for me to understand some of the updated info/rules/regulations on the uscg.mil website.
