This may be a stupid question but are you issued/allowed to wear either at basic? I have extremely fair skin and I try to always wear a hat and sunglasses when I'm in the sun for long periods of time... sunscreen always irritates the crap out of my face for some reason. Thanks for your help! |

When outdoors, you will be in a hat most of the time. Sunglasses in boot, unless issued, are a no-go |

Air Force story: I did my USAF Field Training during the summer and we marched everywhere, so we were in the sun. A lot. All of us wore sunglasses along with the regulation blue garrison cap. Well, after a few weeks of this, we all had the most incredible looking tans: Our faces were all dark except for a white triangle in the middle of our forehead and white rings around our eyes. We all looked like raccoons! After we graduated, I think we were all afraid to go out in public for a while... |

And you will be able to put on sunscreen to help. You will have a chance to buy some at the exchange they encourage you to get some. I really wished they would have let us wear sunglasses. so much time just looking at the bright white walls of the barracks in formation waitng... good times. |

I wish sunscreen didn't irritate the heck out of my face and make me break out! So annoying! Thanks for the reply. |

I had some nasty glasses tan after BC from my BCGs, I had to thank one of the CCs for telling me my glasses tan looked awesome. |

Bailey: I have ultra sensitive skin and have found the products for sale at a company in Rochester, Mn very helpful. All their products are free of the chemical additives that irritate the skin. I found out about them when I was hospitalized many years ago at the Mayo Clinic. Many of their products were specifically developed for patients at the Mayo Clinic Dermatology Hospital, probably the best in the world. Here is the link. You can order online and get it within a couple of days. They are very nice people. http://psico.com/Good luck---pepper |

I can see my bc tan lines in all of my graduation pics. It took about 2 weeks and a half to get rid of them when I got back home haha. |
