Hi all! Well I've finally decided to try and do this thing after 2.5 years of lurking and researching on this very forum! First of all I want to give a huge THANK YOU to all of the regulars here who are always there to help all of us newbies! It really is appreciated more than you know. Especially by me... I've learned a TON reading these forums. (Seriously, I think I know more than my recruiter LOL I'm kidding but I think he was impressed! ) Anyways, I'm from Cincinnati, Ohio and I'm taking the ASVAB either Monday or the Monday after. I've been studying for the past few days, trying to brush up on those darn math skills! I'm 25... a Sophomore in college, graduated High School in '04. I'm trying to go active and according to my recruiter, as long as I do well on the test and everything goes smoothly I shouldn't have too much trouble getting in (being that I'm in Cincinnati and a female). So I guess we'll see! I'm excited for this adventure and I really hope everything works out. Hope you guys are all having a great day/night!

Not in KY...grew uo in Spokane WA. Then moved to Texas at 19 with my lovely bride and been here ever since...27 years. 

Captkyguy is the nick name my late father-in-law gave me...he was always called big guy and one day he started calling me kyguy (ky short for kyle) and then the capt was added when I made Captain in Dec 2001 with my fire department.

Hi Bailey, welcome to the forums! I'm going through the cincy office too, PO Schmidt. What kind of time frame did he give you? Did he say anything about the wait in general or how many slots for FY'11?

Good luck on the ASVAB, if you studied you'll do just fine! I was stressed, studied some and crushed it.

Hey GymRat! I'm also going through PO Schmidt. I took the ASVAB a week and a half ago and got an 86. I've been in Maui for the past week (just got back today) so
I will be giving the recruiter a call back tomorrow. From how he made it sound, me being a female, there shouldn't be much of a wait (as long as everything checks out)...
but then again who knows! How long did he tell you?

You'll arrive about a week after me. My shipdate is November 16th. Looks like we'll be freezing together! Not sure where Ft. Mitchell is .... but I'm in South Central, KY... well for the next 27 days... then it's back to Indiana for me. Congrats on the ship date!
