Alright another question to throw out at yall. I was reading information about the security clearance and when I get a background check is it just checking me or also checking my mother/father. The reason I ask is my fathers parental rights were terminated by the court system at the age of 13. And he's a bad guy, if a security clearance went through on him I would basically be screwed because of what he has done. I have not seen/ or talked to him/ or had him in my life since his parental rights were terminated by the courts. Anyone know about this? If I brought all the court papers in with me, the signed items from the TX judge, then that would be fine to prove he is no longer legally my father right? Or am I just worrying about this for no reason because they dont even check that.

I know they ask for your parents names but I don't believe they crucify you for the sins of the father. Unless you were driving the get away car, I think you will be fine. We don't need details, sounds painful and something you don't want to put out there, but speak to your recruiter, let him know what you know. He will give you a complete straight up answer on what to expect. Best of luck and I'm sorry that you still have to worry about things like that. Prove what a better man you can be.
