I love my hair and the hour that I take every morning fixing it. I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to chop it off very soon to get ready for boot camp. I'm just assuming that it will make life not as stressful. I'll use less shampoo. I won't stress about sock buns...etc.
I don't plan on getting bangs. Just one short length.
    A couple questions:

1)Can I still use bobby pins to pin the sides/front to my head? So that the hair doesnt fall in my eyes?  The document of directives shows a female who has hair very short like a guys' cut (almost) and she doesn't have hair on the sides. It's kindof the length of sideburns. Do I just pin back my hair behind my ears?

2)Any pictures that you know of through google that are acceptable short hair cuts?

    3) And most importantly, when I get out of boot-camp CAN I GET HAIR EXTENSIONS? Hair Extensions are made to look like your real hair. It can be put up in a bun for work every day. NOT clip-in hair extensions. I'm talking about the hair extensions that cost 400-1500, and are put in with heat and glue or a process called cold fusion.
It doesn't fall out. Doesnt interfere with uniform.

who needs bobby pins, you'll have gobs of gel. I still laugh at the shaving/hair gel remedial. the females looked pissed after every single one when they had loads of gel in their hair.

and yes hair extensions that are cold fused and dont interfere with the uniform(no spiked green hair) are fine. Most females that I see including my XO just keep it short.

If it's long enough that it moves when the wind blows, you'll have to glue it in place.

Yes, a hair helmet will be part of your boot camp uniform.

Spoke with Cape may today, It is easier for long hair rather than short in Basic.

I get up at 4:30 every morning now and my hair is lucky its dry when I leave my house, never mind styled... I can't imagine it taking an hour to do my hair everyday. Even more so, I can't imagine enjoying doing that for an hour!! Yikes!!! I would literally have to get up at 3:30 everyday! I just cut 13" of hair off my head and donated it.

Macie...you may want to get up at 4:15 instead during those winter months in your new destination so that you don't end up with a popsicle head...HAHAHAHAHA

Sorry back to hair lenght conversations...

My daughter has long beautiful hair! She did absolutely fine just using gel! Came home from boot camp, did home town recruiting, tucked it under her cover, and now still has her long beautiful hair. No need to cut, as the gel takes care of all your issues. Boot camp is not a fashion show, and you all will look the same, and by the way,you have no time to look in mirror anyway. Goot luck!!
