hey everyone.. just thought I'd introduce myself.  Names Doug and I'm located up here in Portland, Maine.  My dad's god son and friend of mine has been in the coast guard for as along as I have been around and is now located down in Cape May.  He kind of got me on my hopes of joining and after some long thinking decided to start pulling the trigger and get the process off on its feet.  I am going to work on getting a date to take the ASVAB and just got ASVAB for dummies to help as a study guide.  Can anyone recommend other ways which may help me in the test?  Again just introducing myself and I hope to meet you all.  Take care everyone.

Welcome I wish I could help on regards to the asvab. I had a study book but didn't look at it much I pulled off an 87 tho Haha. All I can say is study hard get a good sleep before you take the test and take practice exams. But don't worry its not so bad good luck

Welcome aboard LaBarca. There are practice tests on line you can take. If you go to Border's or Barnes & Noble, they have big selections of ASVAB books. I'm sure you'll do fine. You have a pretty good resource in your friend at Cape May but if you have any questions feel free to hit us up, we'll be happy to help.
