Daniel,
You hit a great point with knowing your general orders. If you go there knowing those and have a good memory you will also do well. Every morning (not sure when it will start) your cc will most probably have you recite a general order or more. As well as people on duty.
You will have a calendar like thing in y our berthing room with the information like who is the training duty officer or the officer of the day etc. It will also have a word of the day or week like bowlin(a type of knot) and you have to recite it practically word for word.
Also, in the beginning it will be Sir Seaman Recruit Grullon Sir. Etc etc. I also highly suggest you wipe the smile off right now the worst thing you can do is stick out like a sore thumb. At least not being known as the smiler or the shit show. You want to stick out for doing the best because there are awards given for most improved and best shipmate and stuff like that. Also, if you score best on your test in seamanship class you get an award. So I hope all of you are bringing your smarts.
They will also tell you there are three phases your company goes through in bootcamp which my company couldnt get out of the first one. They are:
Forming: your first week of bootcamp. not a big deal you wont even know who the others are because you will be known as a number i.e. 1-60 or however many are in your berthing area that week.
Storming: when you can't seem to get in step and get along with shipmates.
Norming: when the company finally gets in step and gets along and hopefully recieve your company colors. I.E. say your oscar company

I was you will get the flag that represents OSCAR which is red/yellow. It is the maritime signal flags. But you will learn all of that when that time comes. I would also say shoot to be in the color guard or something like that gets you out of IT most times unless your CC waits for that group to get back to really hit your company hard!
