    I'm looking for anyone who has been in Pensacola recently to give me information on the area.  My husband just got accepted into the flight school, and we don't know whether to buy a house, or live on base or what?!  I've been up there house searching and it seems like there are a lot of landfills and not too many nice places to live.  PLUS I just found out that depending on whether he's chosen for fixed or rotary depends on whether we stick around Milton or head to AL or TX.  Does anyone know how the process there works so I stop going crazy with lack of communication from the CG?  I'd hate to get a bad taste in my mouth the first move we make - but I have a job and life too, and I need to know where I'm going and what I'm doing...!

    Not a pilot but advice from someone who moved over a dozen times in 22+ years...

    Renting is always a safe option. You have no idea what the housing market will be when you leave in 1-2 years. You certainly don't want to be strapped with 2 mortgages. Just be sure to get your "military clause" included in your contract.

    Keep in mind, the housing market could be mush when you are up for the next move.
