Anyways, yeah, me! lol had to choose it so far out in order to finish semester of school...can rarely concentrate on hw, so might as well have just gone earlier. Oh well, at least we get christmas |

Awesome . I recall my reservation being sent for 1/11/2011. I haven't heard back but hopefully it works out all great! I want to be an MST, but who knows what could happen down the road! |

nice m15airof, hopefully i'll cya there! I was thinking about MST for a while, I love the environment, but I also want to...I don't know what I want to do lol I was looking towards AST and ME, but who knows. Thank god we get 4 months to decide! And us south/western folks (lived in the west my whole life) are going to have to get used to that January weather. |

Haha, yea, uncertainty as to what is coming and what will happen is a big theme. My father was a ME back in the day, he liked it a lot. He had mentioned that they are pretty much needed everywhere...but times may have changed. The four months seems so close yet so far away, a blessing and curse in my opinion; more time to get ready and more time for me to twiddle my thumbs . I don't have any advice for the weather, it gets cold up here in connecticut during January, from the low teens to high twenties, I have never been on the coast during winter in NJ though...we'll see. But I imagine you guys down south get some cold weather sometimes, no!? |

Oh yes, I've worked out plenty of times in the mid 80's...pinky toe turned blue! and it's 3 montsh, 3 months! those extra 5 days can just be ignored! but yeah, the wait is killing me, but it's also a godsend cause i can memorize all the 11 general orders, and get in some nice cardio workouts... |

Az. Longest I've lived in cold weather was for a week...looked at average jan. temps and precipitation, and they get about 3-4 inches average for jan and february, and march is even more. Plus 26 lows on average--it's going to be a long 8 weeks Then again, I'm joining to get out of Az, so hopefully I'll love it. Not a big fan of the heat. |

If by inside connection you mean iCal on my computer...yes lol And I could be wrong, but I don't think Cape May takes a week off after christmas. If they do then we are Papa. I don't know why all of this even matters, just a way to make these last few months speed up and be slightly productive. |

Hi,
My son is leaving the 11th of January 2011 as well from Southern California.
I dont think there is a Papa company; so it might be Quebec.

Wait, no Papa company? They skip letters?! Well then that messes up all my planning lol Congratulations on your sons ship date, by the way. |

Papa was reserved for the PITSTOP classes. But PITSTOP doesn't exist anymore so I don't believe they are skipping or reserving Papa for anything special. However, you may be incorrect anyway because I dont' believe they bring in recruits the week of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. I may be wrong so please don't quote me but I do believe there are a couple of lapses in recruit classes during the holidays. |

They say you CAN bring long underwear. You don't have to bring it. Here is the problem... you put it on, do 100 push ups, run to 3 classes, do 82 flutter kicks, run to another class... you are going to be sweating!!!!!! A LOT! You will not be able to change out of your long underwear. You will generate a lot of body heat is my point. I have heard of people taking it and never wearing it. Then it is just another item of clothing that must be folded & stored precisely correct or add a few more to those push ups & flutter kicks!!! Just a thought! |

Well that is a good thought. I guess the next question is how often are we outside even though it's cold? Do they still make us do everything outside, or is a lot of stuff moved indoors? Or maybe it really doesn't matter, because we'll be active and hot either way. I'll probably end up bringing like 2 pair, maybe 1, just in case. |
