Tomorrow I'm going to take the asvab, any last minute advice? I've been out of school for about 8 years now. I've been studying the asvab for dummies, and did OK on the practice tests. Any last advice and your prayers will be great |

Relax. Get a good breakfast. Use the restroom before the test. Concentrate and read each question thoroughly but try not to spend too much time on one question because it's timed. If you don't know something, skip it and come back to it. Just remember that you can't go back to a different section once it's completed. Don't leave anything unanswered and if you have to guess, try to use the same letter to better your chances. |

Take your time on each question. Rule out as many wrong answers as you can before answering the right answer (unless the right answer is painfully obvious. In that case just pick it and move on). I took the test twice using that approach and scored a 94 and a 96. I promise it works. |

I scored a 33, I tough the test was fairly easy. I'm not sure if I got nervous and rush trough it or what. But that's just my AFQT score. I took the paper version and well get the official score by the end of the week. I'll keep studying and re-take it in the next 30 days. Which do you guys think will be best taken, computer version or paper version? |

My understanding is they are exactly the same test. Good luck on the retest. Just take a deep breath and try not to worry too much. |

Actually no the administrator ask that if any has taken the test before to let her know, because if they take the same version of the test that the took the last time will be invalid and would not count as a score, and will go by your last score. |

I took one on paper and one on the computer. I personally thought the computer test was a lot harder especially the part where you have to match up the dots on the shapes and stuff. If it is on paper then you can trace the tough ones on paper. Can't really do that on the computer version. Plus, on the computer version you can't go back and change your answers. Once you answer and submit you can't go back. Paper allows you the chance to go back and review the questions you weren't certain about. Another tip is to go to the Home Depot or Lowes websites and brush up on the names of tools (especially the types of wrenches). Best of luck! |

The computerized test is a CAT test, which stands for Computerized Adaptive Test. That means if you get the early questions right the computer gives you harder and harder questions that count for more points as you go along. So, if you miss the first question in a section, your final score will be much lower than if you miss the last question in a section. It's kinda like "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire": If you miss the first question, you never get to the questions that are worth a lot of money. On the other hand, the questions on the paper test are all weighted the same. So, depending on how well you take tests, you may prefer one format over the other. |
