Just wondering if anyone knows of, or can make up, the average number of people who DON"T make it through boot camp? I'm not looking for anything exact, but is it like a quarter of the people don't make it through, or one person every couple companies?
I know it's going to be different for every company, but just in general.

What good is a made up statistic going to do for you? Figure 10 percent per company for medical, drugs, and personal problems. |

I'll say 63.894% of the people don't make it throughout the year... BTW, yes, that is totally made up for no apparent reason! LOL |

we had about 10% that left the company, one or depression and the rest medical, most just got reverted. |

Ok, thanks. What I meant by made up was not done through study or by actual mathematics . Not quite sure why I phrased it that way...

I was just picking on you for fun Wisper, no harm intended. That was why I said LOL and added a smile. I wasn't being serious, just poking at you a little. By the way 95% of all statistics are made up! HAHAHA |

And 78.7% of all of Macie's figures are only correct 29.4% of the time, every time. |

For a non-normal distribution, you could use a Weibull distribution that provides 95% confidence of 97.5 percentile. |

The other 31.25% of the time I'm not wrong, I've been grossly misinformed. |

From what I'm getting between jokes is that there's about a 10% drop rate. Continuing that thought, and since someone mentioned it, what's the average percentage of people who are reverted? And I'm figuring I'll always be wrong at least until I get out of boot. |

If your having a hard time navigating this board you're going to have a rude awakening in the fleet. People only talk in statistics and double entendres. |

It honestly depends on the Company Commanders. In my own experience out of all the companies I ran from November 06' to Jan 10' the average reversion was around 8-10. DHE-8-10-that includes recruits that were kicked out for depression, inability to conform to a military life style, immaturity, and just plain didnt belong in the Coast Guard. Drugs-1-2. Personal/Home Issues 1-3. Average total 20-25. The most I ever lost W-181, 31 total loses out of 80. Even though I am long gone...there are a handful of CC's left in CM that were trained by the old school CC's so make sure you are on top of your game at all times. Even though the ultimate decision lies with your CC's whether or not you get reverted/rephased. It really depends on your own actions and how you conduct yourself in Boot Camp that truely matters. Every one will make mistakes, but it's how you learn from your mistakes, correct them and carry on that matter. You continue to make the same mistakes or fail to follow instruction then you will find your self under the microscope of your CC's. Remember this... when you signed the dotted line and took that oath its a binding contract between the you and the United States Coast Guard. We didnt call you, come to your HS or knock on your door to join. You came to us. So when you get to Cape May you better be there for the long haul because you cant just quit! The only thing quiting gets you is more face time with the quarter deck. |

Thanks for the info. In no way do I plan on getting sent home, or back a week, but always good to know what you're up against. |
