    Can you document sea time while in the coast guard or navy to go toward you captains licenes requirment.

    I did in the early 80s. The Captain had to sign off each page to verify I made each trip. After acquiring thousands of miles of trips, mostly pilotage, I had change of heart with regard to career intentions. Oh well.

    Mine was working toward a Mates license not a Captain's license. Though I'm sure the trips would have been just as valid for both.

    Someone with more recent info please chime in.

    Caution: I have two brain cells. Sometimes they both work at the same time.

    You can get approximately 60% of your time credited to days at sea. Captain must sign off.
