This may be an ignorant question, but I feel that I need to ask for the safety of my family. If a hurricane comes to the area of my duty station, how difficult will it be for my wife to evacuate the area, if need be? Obviously, I wouldn't be evacuating, but I don't want to put my wife into harm's way. I'm completely clueless in this area... we don't have hurricanes in Ohio :) Would she just follow the evacuation route out of the city? I don't know how crazy it would be during the evacuation, but I think being early is the key. I don't want her to get stranded on the road when the hurricane comes. I haven't left for basic yet, but I assume they don't cover this. Any suggestions would be appreciated. :)

Stationed in Savannah when my wife and kids bugged out some years ago.  I was told I wasn't going anywhere while she drove inland.  Hurricane swerved and hit Charleston instead (as they normally do) but better safe than sorry.

Your wife will follow the evacuation orders of the Mayor, Governor or other authority.  You need not worry.
