well from what ive read, this seems like this may possibly be a real SOL situation for veterans who are trying to pursue commercial flight training through private institutions such as embry riddle, FIT, etc...........

there is no way in hell that you can pay for a degree program paired with flight training for 17,500 a year. Especially not rotary wing training, which is what ive been dreaming about for years and have begun pursuing via TA (taking general ED courses that will transfer to the rotary wing program). Hopefully there will be amendments made, or people will get grandfathered in, but i knew deep down that if it seems too good to be true, it is in this world..........

well after researching, it seems as though this tuition cap is only going to affect PRIVATE universities, like ERAU, FIT, university of north dakota, etc. luckily im enrolled in a public school A.S. degree / flight training program which will be covered as before.

unfortunately there are alot of veterans that just enrolled in those big schools and who knows if the VA will grandfather them in or not. There are alot of small flight training schools that have gotten business from contracts with the big universities, and thats definitely going to be impacted by this, which sucks. i wonder how many more amendments this bill will go through over the next 5 years..........
