    Hello, I am interested in joining the USCG. What is the normal way in which people obtain positions doing port security? Any ideas?

    Your best bet is to start here:


    Read all the links associated with Officer accession programs except the Academy.  Then contact a recruiter at one of the suggested links.

    I'm sorry I can't be of more help.  My understanding is the CG is looking for specific types of degrees.  You never know though, you might get lucky.

    If you might be interested in the enlisted route the same link above has child pages associated with Enlisted careers.  Again, read all you can then contact a recruiter.
