I've got the first 2 down, and I'm working on the rest this week. Don't forget the Ethos and Phonetic Alphabet too! |

I've got the 11 General Orders, phonetic alphabet, chain of command, and for the most part the list of military terms on pg 15, down fairly well. Gotta get that Ethos engrained now. Even though I say Fairly Well, in the moment of being told to recite any of it by a CC or LCC, I'm sure it'll be much more difficult to perform! But hey, that's all part of BC. ONE WEEK BEFORE WE GET GOING!!! |

I procrastinate too man! In this case, I had several months to prepare though. I definitely don't have any excuses! This summer I did quite a bit of roadtrippin and didn't keep a routine of jogging or aerobic exercising, so not in the best physical shape I could be in. I did read on the forum somewhere, think it was cesuscg, talking about using the association technique to help memorize the Orders. Such as associating #1 to a post, since that number resembles such physically; #2 can be associated to the resemblance of your index and middle fingers as tiny legs "To walk"; etc...hey, anything you can do mentally that helps. I have trouble associating 9, 10, & 11 to something though. Maybe for #10, the one can be thought of as in "salute" to the zero. Any thoughts? |

Sounds like we're all in the same boat physically, at least we can still mentally prepare- sorta. I memorize with associations too! 1- to take charge.. cuz the person in charge is #1 2- to walk.. cuz you use 2 legs to walk 3- to report.. i didnt have anything special-just memorized this one 4- to repeat.. i just kept repeating "guard house" and i got it down 5- to quit.. 5:00 is quitting time or should i say 1700 6- to recieve... i just remember the officer order 7- to talk... just memorized this one too 8- to give... i think of 8 alarm hot sauce, even though i think its really called something else- 8 alarm sounds good 9- to call... i think of an agent like 007 but 009- he calls headquarters from his watch lol 10- to salute.... when you salute, your arm is at the same angle of a clock hand at 10:00 11- to be... 11 is a long one so its challenging- challenging has 2 L's that look like 1's- cha11enging they're kinda weird i know, but i bet it will help you. im going to visit my sister for a couple days, she always comes up with quirky ones so i'll ask her and post any good ones |

For #3, maybe: 3 strikes and you're out/To report all violations; I use the same thing you do for #5; For #6, there are 6 types of officers listed: sentry (close enough), CO, field officer of the day, officer of the day, officers, and petty officers. #7: The number 7 looks sorta like a mouth "to talk". I'm gonna use the fact that #11 is a "challenge", thanks traci!! Hope some of these help. |

those are really good sinister! those will definitely help me! i whip out the flashcards whenever i can, and i also keep typing them over and over again. about 50 times each, while saying them aloud, it's worked so far but its getting tougher especially around #6 |

hand writing them is good too. having your sis or someone ask you to recite them in random order might help as well. I'm gettin the Ethos down a little better. |

Just be prepared to do alot of teamwork, at first it will seem hard and impossible, but the quicker you can come together as a team, the farther you will all get as a company. Your CC's will push you in ways that will make you into the best Guardians you can be. But don't give up on yourselves or each other, help each other all along the way. Semper Paratus. SN Rivera |
